Organization
Administrative leadership is provided by UCGHI Co-Directors Haile Debas, MD and Tom Coates, PhD. Administrative support is provided by UCSF Global Health Sciences. Debas and Coates work closely with a Leadership Committee that includes faculty members leading the three Centers of Expertise and the education program. Additional guidance is provided by a Board of Directors, chaired by John Stobo, MD, senior vice president for Health Sciences and Services for the UC system, and including representatives from the 10 UC campuses. The External Scientific Advisory Committee, chaired by Harvey Fineberg, MD, President of the Institute of Medicine, offers advice on scientific issues. A standing committee on education also guides the Institute.
