Global Health Education Lunch Meeting

FOR UC Global Health Faculty/Instructors/Staff ONLY
At UC Global Health Day, during the lunch hour, UCGHI will host a meeting to discuss educational opportunities/challenges and the formation of a UC global health education consortium. This meeting is geared for UC global health faculty, instructors, and staff. UCGHI highly values global health education and recognizes the significance of convening global health educators and staff for the purpose of building UC's capacity to offer and strengthen innovative, cutting edge global health educational offerings. If interested in attending, please indicate your participation on the registration form.

UCLA Sex Squad Performance

Saturday, April 18th | 7:00pm - 9:00pm
UCLA | Kaufman Hall

To cap off UC Global Health Day, the first-ever High School Sex Squad Festival brings together the UCLA Sex Squad--an undergraduate performance troupe dedicated to arts-based sexual health education--with a lineup of newly formed High School Sex Squads from the Los Angeles area. Together, they will present a selection of humorous skits, spoken word, dance, and personal stories on the same night of UC Global Health Day. Shuttle service to Kaufman Hall will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. If interested in attending, please indicate your participation on the registration form. Helping Babies Breathe Workshop

A post-conference satellite event will be hosted by Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) at the UCLA campus. (Workshop Schedule). HBB is an initiative of the American Academy of Pediatrics and many partners, including USAID, and is being co-hosted by UC San Diego School of Medicine. This satellite event consists of a neonatal resuscitation workshop for those interested in becoming an HBB Master Trainer. Register for workshop. Questions? Email Sonia Romero at snromero@rchsd.org.

UC Global Health Clinical Training Day

The day following UC Global Health Day, you are invited to attend the UC Global Health Training Day. This one day training is geared for individuals providing medical clinical care oversees. It will be useful to anyone engaging in clinical activities or supervising students engaging in clinical activities internationally. During this training, the following topics will be covered: UC health and safety resources, cultural and ethics challenges in global heath, and teaching on clinical topics and practical skills for field work.
