Former GloCal Fellow Moses Obimbo Madadi awarded prestigious Calestous Juma Science Leadership Fellowship

Moses Obimbo Madadi, MBChB, PhDGloCal is pleased to share that 2016-2017 alumnus Moses Obimbo Madadi, MBChB, PhD, has been awarded a Calestous Juma Science Leadership Fellowship from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. This five-year fellowship, which is part of the Gates Foundation’s Grand Challenges in Global Health, seeks to support African scientific leaders doing transformational research and a collaborative community of practice around this partnership. Dr. Madadi is a Kenyan obstetrician/gynecologist and an Associate Professor at the University of Nairobi. With this new fellowship, he will form a coalition of researchers and develop tools to study the vaginal microbiome and metabolites during pregnancy to help identify predictive biomarkers and intervention strategies for improving pregnancy outcomes in Kenya.
