A Message from UCGHI on Ukraine

March 9, 2022

Dear UCGHI Community,

With the recent developments on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, UCGHI stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and those being impacted by the unnecessary suffering from the invasion. War and acts of violence are far reaching and wreak havoc on the physical and mental wellbeing on a global scale. Our empathy is with the individuals experiencing this violence firsthand, and we encourage those who feel compelled to support refugees by staying informed and supporting organizations that are mobilizing aid in the region. This list by Global Citizen highlights action items and reputable medical and humanitarian aid organizations and this link contains resources to refugee groups

Witnessing what is unfolding at a distance is difficult, especially at a time when communities globally are fatigued by the impact of the pandemic. In the coming weeks, we encourage you to continue to look out for one another and pay particular attention to the needs of those who are most vulnerable.

To our UCGHI community members, especially those with family and friends in Eastern Europe, our support and hopes for peace are with you.

Sincerely,

UC Global Health Initiative
